Thanks and Kudos to:

All of you who came out to party family style at the Transcontinental Blues Family Reunion on July 17 at Whiskey Dick’s! The show featured a stellar lineup of great friends and family. Long Tall Deb and the Drifter Kings opened followed by The Colin John Band direct from Hawaii featuring our good friend Mr. Michael Hill. Michael, by the way, is producing our debut CD which will be released this fall.

What an incredible time, stay tuned for pics! At the end of the night, we all got up onstage as Richey, Colin and Michael took turns guitar shredding as CJB bass player Gerard Dominick and our own Melvin Powe provided the bass section backed in turns by Doug Oscard and Andrew Gauthier! What a hoot! Can’t wait for the next one!

Thanks to the good people at the Columbus Blues Alliance for allowing us the honor to perform at the Creekside Blues and Jazz Fest the weekend of June 19.

Also thanks to the good people of Comfest for having us as well on Sunday, June 28 at the Bozo Stage. We had an absolute blast and made some new friends! Also, congrats to John and Danielle who got engaged ONSTAGE during our set! Word is they met exactly one year ago at Comfest. It was a beautiful thing to watch especially as Danielle had absolutely no idea what was going on, thinking he was onstage to play tamborine or something! Thanks to our good friend Kim for providing these pics!

An open letter to all of you who supported our Thirsty Ear Show with Paul Miles this past Saturday March 28:

Friends,

On behalf of Long Tall Deb and the Drifter Kings and

Paul Miles, I wanted to thank you for the overwhelming support you showed us this past Saturday night at the Thirsty Ear Tavern.

If there was any doubt that live local music is not a viable commodity in Central Ohio, it was quickly laid to rest at precisely 9:30pm when the show officially SOLD OUT even before the first note was struck!

Thanks to all who came out and especially to those who patiently waited outside and got in later. We hope your experience was worth the price of admission.

Many of you already know that the Thirsty Ear Tavern has already begun a renovation and expansion process to help accomodate the growing demand for quality live entertainment. Thanks, too, for showing them that their efforts will not be in vain and that there is a large niche for those who are not turned on by karaoke and stupid gimmicks to get bodies in clubs.

It is not too lofty a goal to expect that one day, the Columbus music scene will be nationally recognized as being on par with places such as Austin, Memphis, Seattle,  Nashville, Chicago and New Orleans – places where local music is revered as a treasure and even tourist destination.

So without taking any more of your time, just know that we appreciate you supporting not just the band, but our fellow musicians, venues, and scene as a whole. Your continued support undoubtedly keeps it alive.

Sincerely,

(Long Tall) Deb Landolt
We will be teaming up with Paul over the next year to do a series of shows in Columbus, Marietta, and Detroit to get our train rolling to Memphis. More dates will be added soon so check back often!

And check out Chef Jen, the world’s greatest chef! We think so highly of her that we wrote a song about her!

If you are wondering what we are doing in the meantime, we are getting ready to record that record you’ve been asking about !! Stay tuned…
