Yes, we are sad to see him go but excited that we have two upcoming gigs to send him off in fine style. We are all extremely grateful to Richey for helping to take us to that next level, and we accomplished a lot in the two short years that he has been at the guitar helm. From winning the River City Ohio Blues Competition (on our first gig with Richey and Melvin), to representing at the International Blues Challenge, to releasing our debut “Diamonds on the Desert Floor”, Richey has been at the forefront of this project and his influence cannot be overlooked. Richey, thank you for being a part of our family and though you may be moving on, we will still be sure to crank call you from time to time ;) Thank you for all your time, hard work and heart.
love, Deb, Melvin and Doug
Richey wanted all our friends and fans to know this:
It seems my mind’s been goin through these changes…….
For the past two years I have had the honor of playing guitar for Deb and her marvelous band. I will be eternally grateful for the opportunity, but the time has come to move on. My last two gigs will be Dec. 3rd at The Trolley Stop in Dayton and Dec 4th at The Woodlands in Columbus. I hope you can all join in on the festivities. These two remaining gigs will be a truckload of fun for sure. I wish Deb and the Drifter Kings nothing but success and will continue to support them in any way that I can. Deb is an amazing talent and will take the world by storm in the next few years I am sure.
Looking forward to seeing you all in December. Peace and much Love….Richey
